Meet the Instructors
The Romsey Taekwondo Club first opened in 1994 and operates under a national governing body.
We are members of the Taekwondo Council UK, which are a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.
We’re always happy to welcome new members who are interested in joining our club.

OUR JOURNEY
Romsey Taekwondo Kicking strong since 1994!
Welcome to the club.
For 30 years, we’ve been building strength, discipline, and a supportive community, one kick & punch at a time.
Mr Overy joined Romsey Taekwondo
From a young age I have always been intrigued with martial arts, growing up with Bruce Lee movies, I started Judo at the age of 10, I have tried my hand at Karate and Kickboxing until I came across Tae Kwon-Do in 1998.
My Tae Kwon-Do journey began in 1998 when I joined Romsey TKD.
As with all White belts, I remember feeling anxious in my first lesson and at the same time excited to start my journey. In 2006 I obtained my Black belt and have continued to train regularly to work my way up the Dan grades, I achieved my 4th Dan in October 2022 and continue aiming to hit the next level.
A.O. Tkd takes over the club
In 2017, I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to take over Romsey TKD which of course I jumped at. At the time it had approximately 25 students and I rebranded the club to A.O. Tae Kwon-Do. I’ve always dreamed of running a large club to pass on my knowledge to others, we currently have over 150 students. In June 2021 we changed organisations and joined The International Tae Kwon-Do Council (TCUK), which has created new opportunities under this National governing body.
Romsey Taekwondo: Kicking Strong Since 1994!
Over the years I have added more to the club, like knife defence, bo staffs and learning the applications of Taekwondo.
We offer classes 5 days a week, 2 to 3 classes a day to suit all levels and abilities from 5 years to 64 years old.
Come and try a class.
I look forward to seeing what the next chapter in A.O. TKD is.
